In 1973, APTA started on a journey to implement the first political action committee of the American Physical Therapy Association. Now, 50 years later, PTPAC has distributed more than $17 million through direct contributions to political candidates who support APTA's public policy priorities, making it one of the 10 largest health care provider political action committees in the country.
